Top of Mind: The No-Frizz Air Dry

By Crown Affair

Frizz isn’t a bad thing, it’s your hair reaching for moisture. Whether your strands are wavy, curly, stick straight, or somewhere in between, frizz is a sign of hair that wants hydration. It can be from color damage, a broken cuticle, or simply your natural texture responding to its environment. Given all of this, it’s important to understand how to work with your hair, not against it. We believe all hair is designed to Air Dry with ease, it’s just about choosing the right products and tools that support hydration, smoothness, and definition.

Let’s start with the basic principle: moisture matters. We recommend everyone use The Leave-In Conditioner daily (on ends or full strands) to seal in moisture, smooth the cuticle, and act as a primer for strands. If you’re looking to nourish extra thick strands, or repair damage from color or heat styling, we recommend using The Renewal Mask weekly. Deep conditioning strands restores softness and elasticity, both of which are replaced by frizz when hair is extremely dry.

How you style your hair impacts how it responds to frizz as well. The Oil and The Finishing Gel are what we reach for to smooth frizz on dry hair, or set a style in place. The Oil adds shine, protects from heat, and tames flyaways without ever feeling greasy. The Finishing Gel is a flexible, lightweight, never-crunchy formula, that defines texture while keeping humidity and frizz at bay. When it comes to brushing, The Brush No. 001 was designed to gently detangle without adding friction, instead, boar bristles move natural oils throughout the hair shaft

Accessories make a huge difference in how frizz your hair is—so does how you dry it. The Towel is intentionally not Terry Cloth (because that causes tons of breakage). Made with a microfiber waffle knit that blots strands dry without friction, it is extremely gentle on the cuticle to dry strands without disrupting their natural texture. Plus, it’s way faster. If you’re pulling your hair up, we recommend using a 100% Silk Scrunchie so that it glides over your hair instead of tugging at the fiber. Repeated damage in one location like a ponytail can also add unexpected bumps to your texture.

Frizz isn’t a bad thing, it’s something to care for. By supporting your strands with a moisture-rich ritual, thoughtful styling products, and gentle tools, you create the conditions for smooth and defined healthy hair, with no frizz.
